Overview

StepPhix - is a customised design program for lifting anchors developed for Philip Gruppe.

With StepPhix, Philip Gruppe’s clients can dimension lifting anchors and create PDF verifications with the help of a user-friendly wizard. This powerful tool saves time for the client and the customer and ensures that the required verifications are available for each stair configurator.

The StpPhix wizard guides the client step by step through the process of dimensioning transport anchors. Based on the most important parameters, such as stair dimensions, weight and other important technical data, compliant anchors and fastening systems are selected.

Another major advantage of StpPhix is the possibility to generate PDF verifications. Once the design of the anchorage system is complete, professionally designed verification documents can be generated at the push of a button. These documents are of the highest quality and fulfil all relevant requirements.

But that is not all. StpPhix also offers the Philip Gruppe the opportunity to collect valuable data. By analysing the usage patterns and preferences of customers, valuable insights can be gained that can be used for optimised marketing. In this way, the Philip Gruppe can tailor its project and services even better to the needs of its customers and offer them an even better customer experience.

Solution

The application was implemented using modern web technologies and is supported in all common browsers. Since the client operates internationally, the application was implemented in EN, NL and DE. There is also the option to extend the application to other languages. At the beginning a design was worked out by SPS and finally implemented after feedback interactions. The design is built Responsive and is therefore usable on mobile and non-mobile devices.

The tool is provided via modern cloud infrastructure. Increasingly, platform-as-a-service is used. This ensures high availability and easy scalability.

The basic functions of the Wizard do not require any data exchange with the cloud, only the storage of customer, project information and the associated user analysis requires this.

The application is deployed as an Azure Static Web App. The backend was implemented serverless and uses an Azure Function to store the project data in a Cosmos DB. Reporting takes place in Power BI.

The wizard provides the user of the application with a simple and clear user interface by selecting the Optimal Fastening Anchors based on a few parameters.

The entered parameters are evaluated in real time in the background. If there are any violations, the wizard cannot be continued and the user receives an error message.

If all parameters were entered correctly, suitable anchors are selected. As soon as boundary conditions are violated or no suitable anchor is available, the user is informed and completion of the wizard is prevented. If a suitable anchor is found, the user can generate a PDF proof. This contains all necessary information and technical drawings.
